The CHOC Foundation is proud to announce that its strong financial health and ongoing accountability and transparency has again earned a coveted Four-Star Rating from Charity Navigator. This is the 14th time the Foundation has earned this elite distinction since 2005.
This rating designates the Foundation as an official “Give with Confidence” charity, bringing further assurance to donors that it uses donations effectively based on Charity Navigator’s criteria.
“We want our donors to know wholeheartedly that their generous contributions to the CHOC Foundation are being invested wisely and effectively to further CHOC’s mission and vision,” said Doug Corbin, senior vice president and chief development officer, CHOC Foundation. “That’s why we work diligently to earn our donors’ faith and trust. Charity Navigator’s Four-Star Rating – which we are honored to receive – should serve as further assurance to our donors of our serious commitment to our responsibilities.”
Charity Navigator is America’s largest and most-utilized independent charity evaluator. Since 2001, the organization has been an unbiased and trusted source of information for more than 11 million donors annually.
Charity Navigator analyzes nonprofit performance based on four key indicators, referred to as beacons. Currently, nonprofits can earn scores for the Impact & Results; Accountability & Finance; Culture & Community; and Leadership & Adaptability beacons. The Foundation scored 100 percent ratings in the Culture & Community and Leadership & Adaptability beacons.
“We are delighted to provide the CHOC Foundation with third-party accreditation that validates their operational excellence,” said Michael Thatcher, President and CEO of Charity Navigator. “The Four-Star Rating is the highest possible rating an organization can achieve. We are eager to see the good work that the CHOC Foundation is able to accomplish in the years ahead.”
